Help with corrupt FL Studio project ?
Hey there,
I’m getting the following message from FL Studio when I try to load a project “An error occurred while reading the FLP file. It may be corrupted, or some plugin caused an error while opening”
My power went out while I was working, after I booted I immediately started FL Studio and tried to load the project but it won’t load.
That’s the only error message I get and the playlist is completely empty as if I were starting a new project. I tried removing the VST Plugins folder to check whether it’s a plugin causing these problems but apparently it’s not because I still get that message. I’m using the producer edition of FL Studio 8 on Windows XP.
I also logged on to the Image-line forum but since I didn’t purchase the product online I cannot post new topics nor can I send a private message to any of the admins that helped the other guys.
If anyone is in a position to help.. where would you like me to send the file ?
Best wishes J
There’s a recovery tool, but it may very well not work…

Also, if you have a legit copy of FL Studio, you should be able to register for an account with image-line with your serial code and get full access to the forum, no problem.

I know it’s too late now, but in the future, it’s smart to save copies of the .flp while you make changes to your work. Instead of saving a file, you can save as new file (Ctrl-N instead of Ctrl-S). The files are small enough and it automatically gets a number so it isn’t any extra work really. That way you always have at least some of your work available in case of a crash.
